Frequently Asked Question

My ambulance is stuck in the dumped position.
Last Updated 10 months ago

First, power cycle the ambulance by turning the box (battery disconnect switch by the driver's knee) and ignition off, waiting for a minute, and turning them back on. Then with the truck running and box (battery disconnect switch) on, ensure that the "Dump Enable" button is on. If it is in the on position, toggle it off and on and open and close the back doors. It will take a minute or two for a dumped truck to raise, and a high-pitched wine during that process is normal.

If the issue still does not resolve, obtain the dump controller from the compartment immediately above the glove box (not in the glove box). With the truck running and box on, plug the controller into the connector located underneath the steering wheel in the driver footwell. The lights on the controller will turn on. DO NOT PRESS ANY OF THE ARROW BUTTONS ON THE DUMP CONTROLLER; this will change the ride and height settings which are specifically set for our ambulances and our bays. Locate the on/off button on the dump controller and press it once. The lights on the controller will turn off. Wait a few seconds and press the on/off button again. This will reset the truck's liquid suspension system to the preset setting and the issue should be resolved. Disconnect the dump controller by pulling the connector apart while lifting up the connector tab and return the controller to its compartment. The settings on the remote should never go above the middle setting for either ride comfort or ride height or damage to the ambulance or bays is possible.

If the issue persists, inform your captain, mark the truck Out of Service, and submit a ticket detailing the issue as well as the steps you took to troubleshoot it.
